The writers better make use of the fact that Clemont left for a while. It brings up so many opportunities and potential for Amour hints. Let's not forget the fact that Bonnie might finally be able to understand Serena's feelings towards Ash or Bonnie helping out Serena's feelings towards Ash. There's just SO much they can do without Clemont currently. I know it's only for a few episodes but I really hope based director delivers as always.

Misty was literally useless and had no reason to be there. The writers threw her a couple of fillers about water pokemon giving viewers the illusion that she had some kind of purpose. Gary only appears 3 times before the league so it feels like Ash has no rival.
While there are some episodes in Johto that are really good you have to know what you're looking for. Otherwise you'll be stuck with some shit episode.

In front of Serena, most of Ash's nose-scratching has not been in response to any compliment from her, but out of sheer nervousness, especially when he's talking to her. Why would he be nervous? It could be a sign of attraction. It's not definitive by any means, but given the circumstances in which he's scratched his nose in front of her, I'm inclined to think it's because he views her differently than others. There's something about her that makes him feel uneasy, but in a good way. And in general, anime tend to have guys do that around girls to show this kind of budding attraction.
