Want to run a Mono-team in AS. What type should I go with?
I also already ran Rock and Normal in Y

Bonus question; is it possible/fun to run a Dragon team without resorting to Pseudos and Legendaries? Ones like Tyrantrum, Druddigon, Haxorus and Kingdra?

Water is a very viable choice. You have Mudkip, Lotad, Wingull, Tentacool and Magikarp almost right away. After that, in the mid-game you can get Barboach, Carvanha, Feebas, Marill, Goldeen, Psyduck and Corphish. In the late game you can get a Relicanth, Chinchou, Horsea, Spheal, Corsola or, if you really want a challenge, Luvdisc.

Lotad, Mudkip, Corphish, Magikarp, Marill, Tentacool and Chinchou are some Pokemon that are very good in-game and provide you with a very useful secondary typing for synergy purposes.

Some other water Pokemon in the Hoenn Dex I did not mention because I couldn't recall when you can get them are Staryu and Wailmer, but I think they are late game.

Are you using a permadeath rule?

Anyway, mono-grass seems like it could be fun. You get lombre, roserade, sceptile, cacturne, vileplume/bellossom, breloom, and I guess Leafeon. Lots of variety in secondary typing, though BST and speed in general is middling at best and I'm pretty sure there aren't any fantastic late game additions to the team if you are permadeathing.

Honestly, those mons I suggested only need 2-3 moves at most, you could afford to give them an HM each.
