Think about it. Gen 5 was GOAT. If GF had waited to put that on the 3DS, or had decided not to push Gen 6 out the door to everyone as soon as possible, Gen 6 wouldn't have sucked as hard.

Mark my words, Gen 7 on the 3DS may be the best shit ever, but Gen 8 would be the worst, and last Pokemon generation. Pray GF is smart enough to wait until Nintendo's next handheld.

I didn't see much complaining that Gen V wasn't on the 3DS.

Most people I knew who cared about this stuff pretty much agreed that had it been on 3DS, certainly quite a few more devices would've sold, but a catastrophically smaller number of copies woulda sold.

Gen6 sucked because it was rushed for the 3DS. If they take the time to optimize the engine for the 3DS instead of rushing onto the N3ds which would be a dick move we could get a another game like Platinum that fixes a lot of the problems the first ones did.

Also, the upgrade from the DS to the 3DS is way more significant, unlike going from the 3DS to the N3DS. It would be vary hard for them to aggressively market it like this, and drop the 3DS this soon.

However, if it's on a more powerful system, that will mean improvements to graphics and performance. A release that takes longer means it will also get more time in the oven, something Gen 6 games needed.

On the other hand, staying on 3DS could in itself lead to optimization: compare Gen 4 to Gen 5, for instance. Going to a more powerful system could also instead lead them to playing it safe, npt filling the game with lots of features.

It came out almost 3 years after the console's initial launch and it's reasonable to assume GF got a dev kit early because of their relationship with Nintendo.

So, how was it rushed exactly? And don't say "muh lack of 3D" or "muh FPS drops" because GF has always been fucking terrible at adapting to new hardware.
