Probably special since Fairy only has one physical move while special has about 5. So they were probably going to make akin to Psychic in terms of damage categories in mind.

And all eveelutions before Sylveon were all the special types. So it would seem pretty obvious for Fairy to be special to match that trend

Ghost and Dark should have been swapped. Ghost being physical was pants on head retarded and it was probably only because the only move that did non static damage was Lick

I didn't have internet or a guide or anything like that back then, so I just assumed the split already existed and that the elemental punches were physical. I remember getting rekt by an elemental punches alakazam at the battle frontier (I think one of the frontier brains had one) and not understanding what the fuck was going on.

I've got a love-hate thing going on for focus miss...I usually run dazzling gleam and HP Fire/Ground on it. The proper coverage basically falls down to "what am I ok with getting walled out by?" 4 Move slot syndrome alakazam does have.

I was so disappointed that they didn't introduce a physical Fairy "sword/blade" move for Xerneas and Diancie so they could have a fitting physical STAB move to work with. Fucking Gamefreak being incompetent as usual.

I always told myself that ghosts exist in a different layer of reality, that's why normal has no effect on ghost and vice versa. They are physical, just in another dimension.
