Just so it can be narrowly outsped by mons with 100 while still outspeeding mons with 95?

What are those two extra speed points for? It could be 96 and it wouldn't make a difference since that one extra point isn't good for outspeeding anything.

Infernape was very heavily based on Sun Wukong, one of the main characters of Journey To The West, an ancient Chinese novel. Sun Wukong, basically, is a monkey with prodigal fighting skills, on a journey in search of ancient Buddhist scrolls. In fact, on the way I believe he actually encounters Buddha? It's been a while since I've read it.

Anyhow, 108 is a very significant number in Buddhist religion. (for example it is believed that there are 108 feelings, Buddha teaches that there are 108 forms of negation, many Buddhist sects wear prayer beads consisting of 108 segments, etc.)

In reality, I think GF is just weird and doesn't care so much, but hey, there's one option.

Cuz GF doesn't care about balance.

Even back with the 1st Gen starters. They added 10 BST for older mons in X&Y, but Venusaur still has less that both Charizard & Blastoise

Stats are actually quite irrelevant compared to moves, ability and stat distribution

klefki has 470 BST, tied with shitmons like cinncino, and torkoal, yet it's banned from OU and has to play with 600+ BST monsters in über.

I know full well about this, and I still find it hilarious how there can be things with 600 BST hanging around on UU simply because nomoves or the mega power creep.
