How would /vp/ feel a out an official Game Freak randomized Pokemon game?
What I mean by this is, since there are hundreds of Pokemon at this point, each game would have an RNG seed generated when a new game was started. That seed would determine which Pokemon appear in the game and which areas they are found in. The pool would consist of all Pokemon and legendaries would only be swapped with other legendaries. Types would be preserved where it mattered: you'd always get a choice of a fire, water, or grass type starter. Pokemon would stay in their correct evolutions based on level, and power would be as balanced as possible.
After beating the Elite Four, the player would be able to access a few very large areas where the remaining Pokemon could be found.
This would definitely change how Pokemon games and the endgame work, simulatenously making it more interesting and encouraging trading.
