>>22940445Oh god no.
Let me give you a briefing. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is a massively popular manga from the 80s known for its zany style and humour, action-packed, long tactical battles and intense drama and emotional characters. Nonetheless, because of these same characteristics that make it so unique it has always been second to more accessible, more popular things such as Dragon Ball, Naruto and One Piece. This combined with legal issues due to the reference to many, many western music bands from the 60s, 70s and 80s prevented JoJo from ever coming to the west in an official form outside of a few iterations and official releases in France and Italy for a relatively small, yet dedicated and ever-growing fanbase (except in France and Italy, there is just as huge as it is in Japan).
Now though, with the end of two of the three main competitors it had and the growth of the fandom into a pretty large one JoJo is getting a lot of steam on the sails of its own 25 anniversary. Currently theres an anime for parts 1 to 3 and sells for the latter Blue Rays will probably determine if the other 4 parts of the manga, the most problematic from a legal standpoint, ever come to the west. For now all indicates that'll be the case tho.
All in all, JoJo is becoming one of Jump's (and Ultra Jump's) main running horses.
To end, so clarifications:
>JoJo isn't a parodyEverything is played perfectly straight.
>JoJo isn't "Memes: the Mango"Its just so long (+110 tankobon volumes!) and bizarre that these have turned up from taking things out of context, mostly. Everything makes perfect sense in the source material however.
So yeah, JoJo isn't the new mlp at all. I hardly doubt that bronnies could ever handle JoJo.
