Always loved Steelix. Was happy to get a mega evo. for him, and a pretty cool-looking one at that. Has anyone used him to much success?

I'm sorry but mega steelix is crap.

I mean I want it to be good because I love both Onix and Steelix, but the reality is that it is terrible.

It was likely ruined by the weather nerf, which is sadly the story for several new pokemon and MEvos with weather-centric abilities.

Megachomp would be infinitely more powerful now if permanent Sand was still available, and don't get me started on Helioptile.

I have used it successfully in VGC. It is a nice counter to Megamom, Mega-Mawile, Fairy spamming and TR all in one. On top of that it doesn't afraid of Lucario, Tyranitar, Aegislash and Salamence, which gives it a pretty nice niche IMO. Too bad it's ability is shit and its Steel moves all suck in one way or the other... It fit my specific team very well, but it's definitely not universally useful.
