Remember, even the professionals have hacked pokemon, and have accepted that they do it for "cutting corners". Se Jun Park, Alex Ogloza, and many others, to say the least.
The only one that acted like he didn't knew anything is Ray Rizzo, and that's because he fucked up. Yet, the incurrence on its pokemon wasn't giving him any disadvantage to a tournament. At all.
Yeah, people do this, but don't "pretend" that the game's pure and "innocent", since it never was from the beginning.
Some RNG, Some gen, Some breed. The end result isn't measured on whose pokemon has the better stats most of the time, but rather, on which side they have either a better strategy in battle...or having a lot of hax on their side.
