Yeah, I mean. Of course Conkeldurr needed Hitmonchan's exclusive move and exclusive ability. Hitmonchan already had too much with Inner Focus and Keen Eye, poor Conkel only had Sheer Force and Guts.

If you're referring to Drain Punch, that was a TM in the generation it was introduced. Mach Punch was never exclusive to Hitmonchan either.

Hell even the quintessential fighting type Machamp has fallen so far behind the new fighting types as well

Hitmonchan needs a regular Evo for HP and Defense boosts so it can outclass Conkel Av set.
Unevolved hitmonchan would have acess to eviolite that makes it bulky as Conk with acess to agility.
