it is an exploit that grabs control of the core of the 3ds operating system. It's currently being used to inject pokemon and other bits of data, but there is absolutely no reason why someone couldn't inject a bit of code that deletes every save on your cartridge and SD card or permanently bricks your 3ds.

I only inject things that I make, so I have no worries about that.

That being said, I would love to see someone do a wide-spread QR virus that bricks a system. I'd teach people to stop relying on handouts and do the work themselves. It's not hard.
