yes. the 3ds is less advanced than a 5 year old entry level android smart phone.

because phone games are made for people on the go. however the market IS changing and phones will replace portable consoles (i predict at the end of the life for the next 3ds replacement) for games that have depth

Maybe but that's because Nintendo has boners for low power consumption.

New 3DS is a quad core version of a 3DS, so if its successor were somehow backwards compatible for 3DS and N3DS games, chances are it'll have to be at least a quad core CPU with some bumps in the clock speed.

Hopefully with a better GPU than DMP though.
