Rocket is deeper than given credit. Even when everything they are doing is for money and power. Also Mewtwo, Ditto, Slowking and the Masterball were created because of them.
Ditto was failed attempts at creating a clone of Mew, Rocket financed research to go into the masterball for catching pokemon and the escaped mewtwo, and Slowking was the product of Rockets cutting off Slowpoke tails which made shelder bite onto the slowpokes head instead of it's tail. Also the red Gyarados.
