I found a copy of pearl laying around, never played past picking the starter(penguin). Thinking of starting a nuzlocke run on it, what am I in for?

Also how do you guys feel about the pearl gen?

Lots of problems, especially before Platinum came out. Can be enjoyable, though, with some nice upsides. Expect a slow playthrough with mostly boring 'mons.

It was shit. The only game that barely saved it was Platinum and HGSS if you count them as part of that gen.

You almost have no fire pokémon. Surfing and battle is extremely slow. Boring Region in general.

Currently doing a nuzlockevof diamond myself (got fucked up in victory road before). Not much Pokemon variety and the only fire type in-game is ponyta. Considering dropping the nuzlocke, should I just play normally /vp/?

I loved Sinnoh when I wasn't using Rock Smash or Strength every 5 seconds. I fucking hated the Pokedex with every fiber of my being. They throw in a shitty mishmash of all 3 previous regions with virtually none of the good Pokemon from them and their own mediocre shit they had to offer.

Your entire team will be underleveled and wiped out whenever you have to fight Team Galactic Admins. But now that you know this, maybe you'll consider grinding once you reach the Windworks (have fun with that).

Hardest games, best region, best music.

D/P are good games at their core bogged down by multiple small annoyances which stack up. Platinum fixes all of them and expands the regional dex and is a lot faster, a shame you aren't playing that OP.

They're being overly negative. Platinum didn't "barely save" Sinnoh, it significantly improved it to the point of many people still considering it one of the best games in the franchise.

That being said, Diamond and Pearl can feel very slow when compared to the upgraded version, and there are only two fire types lines available, one of which is the starter, which is a load.
