ITT: We live in an alternate dimension where Pokemon Red & Blue were never successful( both Japan and internationally, but we got them anyways) and as a result are now known by the retro GB community as hidden gems.

Fuck, don't remind me about psychics man. They're the reason I gave up on competitive pokemon. Every team carries a psychic type, and Alakazam's used on 30% of teams at least (150 to choose from, and 30% of people use this guy). Seriously, how is GameFreak so bad at balance? They couldn't just make Ghosts super effective on Psychic or something?

A digital pokemon was a really cool idea even though Digimon did it better (considering it's still going strong). It would've been cool if this guy got like an "upgrade" version, like with more polygons and curves and shit.

Oh man, Pocket Monsters! They actually had an anime adaptation of this too. It's about this kid named Satoshi who travels around the pokemon world and eventually becomes the champion. He starts his journey with a pikachu (it's one of the electric monsters) instead of the normal starting ones. It wasn't very popular in Japan but it's pretty decent if you like 90s anime.

It's easy to criticize them in hindisght. Considering what they went through to make the game, we are lucky we got it at all. Who knows, if they ever made sequels they might have started balancing it some more.

It's just a shame they didn't. Maybe they would have introduced some new pokemon? Maybe then there would be new pokemon to occupy types that only had one line, like Ghost and Dragon.

That's overdesigned as fuck. No real Pokemon would have that many fuckin' spikes or tiny, worthless details like hexagon scales. How could that even be displayed on a Gameboy? It would be a mess of pixels. Pokemon designs are clean and simple.
