Zoroark is literally red and black Lucario.

Lucario was a huge success, so Game Freak designed Zoroark with the intention of repeating that success.

It failed hard, which is why Lucario is still around and Zoroark has faded into obscurity.

Zoroark was pretty much forgotten, it's pretty chill.

Lucario, however, gets an arc of the game dedicated to it and has a monumental statue of it erected, and it follows the edgy samurai/ninja archetype.

"Dark"-type is dirty fighting and evil/corruptness.
Fighting-type is playing by the rules, thus being anathema to the former. Fairy is good/pureness, thus being anathema to the latter.
