they were stairs due to the limitation of screen size and capacity of the DS.

When they do the remake, they will correct it. It will look like a natural downward slope like you would expect in any RPG with over 2 months of development, let alone a remake! LOL, could you imagine if they remade a pokemon game and didn't even bother updating the fucking overworld?

I actually just got done reading the Hoenn story arc of the Adventures Manga. I like the idea that a Pokemon used raindance to re-fill the lake for those poor Magikarps.

There was another 3Dish area as well in that game but I can't remember it. HGSS teased a lot of features that they fully implemented in B/W
