In the deep expanse of space, trillions and trillions of galaxies extend their celestial arms as comets rush by and planets orbit their suns. One of these stars we just call "Sun", because unlike the myriad of shapes a galaxy can take on, our minds only craft ideas in one shape, one frame of mind. Around this Sun revolve eight planets. One of these planets we call "Earth". Earth is the only known celestial body in our entire, infinitely expanding universe that we know for a fact can sustain life. One of these lifeforms is called Champ, and today, Champ will engage in a number of "Pokemon battles" regulated by Smogon University. Like our incessantly growing universe, the number of new Pokemon being discovered expands infinitely proportional to a yearly cycle. However, life is fleeting, and similar to the way a star radiates its last beams of light before collapsing onto itself, the run with the Pokemon Champ selected will die too. Champ himself may find the end of the road staring him down. With the somber passing of death, new life is born. Matter floating in space coalesces together to form new chapters in the history of our universe. New Pokemon will answer the call to action and take on new challengers under the command of a new Champ. Our universe is special in that sense: Out of death, comes life. Out of defeat, comes victory. Or if Champ strokes, out of defeat comes more defeat. You get the idea.
