Sure, there's a lot of variance in Pokémon but making it to Top5 without at least above average skill doesn't really seem feasible as long as you're not using a "broken gimmick" (e.g. dEnIsSsS era BP), a solid team that essentially plays itself (mostly stall) or a highly volatile hax reliant strat (e.g. SwagPlay).
