The games ended up as rushed and casualized pieces of shit that didn't live up to everyone's expectations. HGSS still remained as the superior remakes and Emerald still remained as the superior Hoenn games. The existence of these games has made /vp/ believe that the franchise has started to jump the shark and Masuda plans to casualize the games for the smartphone audience instead of implementing some goodies that the older veteran players want.

Nothing bad happened, the games are great. Sure they have some flaws (like any other Pokemon game) and some people just cant get over "m-muh BF, m-uh mega flygon" but other than that those games are lots of fun.

Well it was shit for one thing. I didn't like XY, but this was just XY except more half assed. Only fun I got out of it was battling Steven but only because I completely forgot to stock up on items, had a shit team and was underleved as hell since I just wanted to get it over with.

True anon, but when GameFreak throws a sign saying the Battle Frontier is in construction it kind of takes the piss doesn't it?
What's worse is that if the BF isn't present in the next game, there will be war over this sign and the other hints GF decided to give us in ORAS of a new BF.

I really hope gamefreak tones the casualizing down a bit. I honestly think it would be worth their while to put in a hard mode/easy mode. hard mode makes exp. share normal again, NPCs are higher level and have elite 4-tier AI, skips all tutorial bullshit etc. b2w2 had one, but you couldnt play hard mode till you beat the game which is fucing dumb. That wouldn't be too much to ask and I think it would generate interest in the older fans, and appease the stockholders by broadening the audience.

I enjoyed some parts, flying around on L@tios, the delta episode.. but overall the game fell short of my expectations.

I really enjoyed the Delta episode, it reminded me of the Looker events in XY. Future pokemon games really need to focus on more of these kind of character and story based quests.
