Every series that has the potential to be competitive turns to shit eventually. The sad part is the competitive players of these series don't care about much more than "strats" and the general diversity of said series. They just look at it as another series that challenges them to think about something a bit complex for some amount of time until the next thing comes along. Look at

As long as there is a group of players that agree to a format and play to be the best at that format they are, by definition, competitive. It being unofficial doesn't make it uncompetitive by nature, especially when the unofficial format strives for a balanced format while the official one is more lax.
