That's the point of the National dex (or it should be, at least.)

Regional dexes are for Pokemon as they're discovered, national is the overall registry.

I like both nidoqueen and nidokings entire family. It's strange because GF somehow manages to make the final evolution some stupid shit and throws good design out the window.

Go back to making mega and ultra evolutions. That is as far as you can ruin good designs.

Back in GS it most likely had something to do with the engine and how breeding was programmer. Because of the autistic nature of Game Freak, they have decided not to change it. There isn't any real reason canon-wise, as far as any of us know, other than lolmenopause.

Don't care if this is recent. Dedenne needs to be retconned into being able to evolve into Raichu as well and Raichu should get Fairy. Would be so satisfying to laugh at how pathetically obsolete and outclassed it would make Pikachu once and for all.

All Pokemon with different species names have different dex numbers. That's why male and female Meowstic share one, but the Nidos and Volbeat/Illumise don't.

I can see them still being separate (even though, like plusle and minun, it's way too uncomfortably similar in design to the pikachu line), but they need to tie the electric rats together- give them all Light Ball. That way that region's pikachu stand in is actually as useful as pikachu.

Raichu definitely needs... Something though. Nobody ever uses him. Maybe not Fairy, but maybe a different ability.
