bad idea. You're not only locking yourself out of Bank by not updating (now is about when most people have to renew as well), but also there will eventually be a required update to play pokemon. Just inject everything you care about (I did good breeding stock females in rareballs for every evolutionary line to throw in bank as well as all the competitive legendaries) then update.
