A pokemon targeted by haunt will continue to receive passive damage (leech seed, burn, toxic, ghost curse, etc) even when switched out.

Give this shit to Cofagrigus, Dusknoir, Mismagius, etc.

Same reasoning why the "masochist" ability I posted some days ago wasn't designed for Gengar but an entirely new line.

I would make it work a bit differently, perhaps have it work like a burn/poison damage normally, but if the pokemon switches out it acts like toxic damage until it's switched back in, like a status-based pursuit.

Gotta make it only last for a turn or two, otherwise it's basically a status version of Guillotine with 100% accuracy. The only support it'd need is like, Toxic Spikes. I guess it could be played around by switching in and out, but frankly it's kind of evil

It essentially sets a timer on a Pokémon which dooms that Pokémon to failure, which is kinda lame.
Any relatively decent stall team would deliver an automatic checkmate simply by Haunting the majority of the opponent's team.
