I-Is that normal? I get some bang for my buck, holy shit.
I remember the games being much quicker.

You are quite slow, I usually have about 10 hours playtime by the time I get to or beat the E4.
I surprise myself now when I get to the E4 and find that I'm at 10 hours, since I play very differently from when I was a kid playing yellow.

This is what I do. I've never played competitive before so I guess I just take my time playing the "main" game. I don't like blowing through it. I also like to raise a full team of six evenly by the time I challenge the E4

Considering Gold was my first Pokemon game back when Gen 3 was just out, yeah I've played before and no I'm not 12.

If you want to rush through the game in five hours that's your prerogative, but I prefer not to do that with games I spent money on. How do you not miss things doing that? Do you literally just go from gym to gym to Rocket battle without doing anything else?

I take my sweet ass time with story mode since I don't care about post-game stuff like Frontier or PWT. (If I want battles I play on Showdown.) I clocked something like 50 hours in OR by Stephen just because I enjoyed running around catching the regional dex, fighting every trainer, raising like 15 different mons I rotated out, exploring all the little details like talking to NPCs and shit.
