anyway, would you really say / do that in this situation ? I mean, yes, all trainers are mediocre but don't you think swiping them with one mon without taking a hit and taking all of their money is enough ?
I kinda liked the so-called rivals in X/Y because they were fun, I never actually saw them as rivals but rather as fellows tourists (which I am in every game).
