Alright, in that case I can get on board with this list, though I'd personally drop OR/AS and R/B/Y down a notch and but Pinball R/S in B rank and though I enjoyed playing Channel as a kid, it's gotta go in Trash tier.

I'm kind of vexed on B2W2.

It's really good gameplay, neo-plasma is neat, having a better pokemom selection was great and it had its cool moments.

But it copied a lot as well. Nimbasa, Castelia, and the post-game cities are identical.

PWT and Black Tower/White Tree are suitable enough, the best part for me wasvisiting the ruins of N's Castle. I mean, the eerie remix OST...chills.

I'd put it as an A-.

Yeah. I would recommend Blaze Black 2 on am emulator, although be prepped cause its actually difficult if you try to use challenge mode and suicidal if you nuzlocke it.

Black and White still crush Crystal in nearly every single way.

You want any story elements Gold and Silver don't have despite how pathetic the minor Suicune subplot was? Black and White are without a doubt the best story in the entire series and have a much better selection and diversity of Pokemon once you overlook the maybe 20 complete shits. You want something like Battle Tower? Battle Subway, which is just far more advanced. You want a challenge like Red even if it lacks the intensity and sentimentality behind it? Morimoto's NPC. They at least belong in A if Crystal deserves to be. The gym leaders have actual character and along with the E4 have much more original and challenging teams than anyone in Johto besides fucking Whitney and her Miltank.

Platinum has such a slow start, plus the starting area variety is slim pickings compared to other games in the series.

I'd almost praise B2/W2 for the variety at the beginning if they didn't try so hard to railroad using Riolu in the beginning.

Nothing this early resists Normal either, so the only decent Pokemon for this are either Riolu or Mareep. Plus grinding's a hassle in this part of the game because the wild Pokemon will reach a level half of what Cheren's Pokemon are at.

Why are HGSS considered S tier? They're good enough for A tier at best.
Kanto was left empty and boring, enemy level scaling is fucked up and the Pokemon you can catch have pretty bad move sets so you rely on your starter most.

Probably because of the 2 regions along with the Battle Frontier. I like HGSS because of how gorgeous Gen II looked after getting a makeover and a lot of the music was good enough, but Kanto truly is boring as shit and gives you no motivation to actually go back. A coat of polish can only do so much for how just unenjoyable Kanto really is while Pokeathalon at least adds a lot more fun and flavor to Johto. Battle Frontier being there instead of Battle Tower is even better. How nice everything looks and sounds is at least why I can't call them shit because the presentation is just fantastic.

Now if only the actual campaign were the same way. The Pokedex is shit, but does well enough to just barely stay ahead of DP's monstrosity.
