BUt I do like Simisage and Simisear. I use Simisage occasionally on Battle Spot, but its movepool is shit, and it would be nice if they got a few more special attacks considering they have access to Nasty Plot.

Their evolutions are mono-type, base stats are copy+pasted and practically the same movepool barring the STAB moves which are just switched around. I don't mind them as pokemon but they really need to have some better differences to stick out.

True, but shitmons exist for a reason, which is to allow GameFreak to favouritise and not all mons are created equal. Simisear is literally a worse Infernape, Simisage a worse Sceptile, and Simipour a worse Greninja.
Basically I'm saying they're good among shitmons.

They're too similar, the designs aren't great (but great compared to the evolutions) and they're fucking shoved down your throat at every twist and turn in BW. You get given one, 1st gym has them, then loads of trainers in the early game have at least one (and pretty often all 3). Fuck, I'm surprised HOT MONKAY DIK didn't end up being the fucking champion or something

Also, a lack of gimmick. They could've;

Any of the above, I feel. They barely stood out; In gen 6 you're given shinies, starters and Megas at the beginning. In gen 5, you're given a seemingly dead-weight monkey.
