In addition to it's decent bulk, as a flying type it also has access to Roost. It might not do too well at the Smogon Grandmaster Tournament of Fags, but it'll get you through the main game just fine.
Also, what the hell was GF thinking when they made Stockpile/Spitup/Swallow?
