Alright I wanna use my bro competitively and I understand life orb and sheer force is a necessity. However is physical/mixed niggoking viable? I always see nidokings being used as special attackers and it activates my autism.

Why physcal?
Nidoking's special movepool has all you need.
Just use Sludge Wave + Earth Power + Ice Beam and you're good to go.

Physical sets are used over special since they hit harder and have priority. Just remember that Nidoking is a wallbreaker, so you shouldnt be running a + speed nature if you're going to commit to any side of its attacking spectrum, just run max speed+offense

Movepool wise, the base power of the "counterpart" physical moves really don't match up to the special moves. I'll grant you that the difference between Nidoking's base attack and his special attack should account for the difference, but his special movepool IS better than his physical.

Not to mention on top of everything running a physical leaves you vulnerable to burns and Intimidates, no such problem with special.

The ONLY time Nidoking ever has a place running a physical attack is if for some reason you want to run Sucker Punch for priority. Which often isn't needed because you should be making opportunities for it to nuke anyway.

This is the best coverage and set.
Use special, because you don't get fucked by intimidate and burn.
For the forth slot I use sucker-punch to punish faster psychic/ghost switch-ins and low health Pokémon. It's a Pokemon that heavily relies on prediction/intuition to work. Some of your adversaies will try to nulify Sludge Wave with steel-types, that are able to quake the shit out of you. Some will try to nulify your Earth Power with flying types-levitate users. Predict right and their ass will be obliterated, predict badly and you'll be obliterated.

You talk like 3% doesn't make all the difference. I know 3% may not seem like a lot since it's a low number, but in the metagame, that 3% difference means your opponent just clung to life with like 4 HP left and then wiped your Nidoking's ass out because of it.
