What are some obscure pokemon that are surprisingly effective competitively. It would also help if you included some niche move sets along with the pokemon

There is also Aqua Ring for more bulk as well as Confuse Ray/Swagger if you are that faggot.

Quagsire is technically in NU, but it can shit all over any setup sweeper that isn't a grass type with Unaware. Scald for burns, Earthquake for STAB damage, Recover, and Toxic.

I don't believe pokemon battling was EVER intended to be taken seriously. The system is too easily exploited and everything is imbalanced. Even the idea that it can be fixed is ludicrous. This was just supposed to be a casual feature. Nerds ruin everything.

It used to be considered OU based on how well it handled SD mawile, p-up punch mega mom, and weakness policy/SD aegislash before they were banned. It never really straight up countered any of them, but it was the best check you had for them.

My negros. Exploud is one of my favorite pokemon. I had a laugh the other day when mine survived a Draco Meteor from Hydreigon and then proceeded to ohko with Boomburst. I run him with Shuckle so I can setup Sticky web and just blow up everything that comes his way.

Drapion was pretty good.

Cross Poison, Night Slash (high critical hit ratio)
Brick Break for coverage

Haven't actually tried this in gen 6 but now the CH power is 1.5x it's probably not as effective.
