Hi guys just coming back to Pokemon after quitting after Emerald because no money for DS at the time.

I'm tired of playing years of hack roms and shitty Poke MMO, so I'm getting a 3ds or a 2ds. (Does it have any influence on the actual gameplay?)

Thing is, I kind of just want to finish the storyline to jump to online, so is it worth to buy all games and work my way up? Or will I be properly introduced to all the pokemons if I just get OR/AS? Omega Ruby seems like a freaking temptation to me, and I can't wait to play it. Not sure I want to lose time with the other games just for the storyline.
