>>23113462>>23113476I'm hesitant to comment on this because I don't want to complain too much in a "good aspects" thread, but, doubles battles were better in Emerald than in ORAS for starters. Emerald improved in-game double battles by letting trainers use more than two Pokémon, but ORAS decided to go back to RS's inferior "nobody can use more than two" (except multi-battles, but in multi-battles you're usually paired up with an NPC that, if you just spammed Splash, they'd still beat the opponent single-handedly). This is most noticeable with Tate&Liza, who went back to their laughable Lunatone and Solrock that could be defeated by a single Surf.
You also have to account for power creep in your party. For most of the game, nothing you have in RSE is going to be as strong as the Megalatias you're given halfway through the game, your starter won't be as strong as your Mega starter, some of your Pokémon will likely have egg moves and Hidden Abilities that make them stronger due to Dexnav, and the forever hated Exp. Share in ORAS. If you turn them off and ignore hand-outs, the difficulty in battles might be around the same since they slightly raised the levels of some later Gym Leaders and the E4, but if you use any of that stuff it's definitely easier.
