Pokemon is still a children's game. While Nuzlockes do promote a higher degree a comraderie with your Pokemon than regular gameplay, GameFreak would never allow for a game where your partners can die because of your carelessness and/or RNG.
I know I wouldn't want my (hypothetical) kids to play something like this until they've had a good understanding of what death is because Nuzlocke deaths may or may not create a perception about the subject that's not the reality.

It's definitely not overruling the conventional way to play the game in any way, but I do agree that they should think about the people that want challenge. Pokémon games are becoming easier and easier because of muh generation of short attention spans (or so they say), but at the same time there's this enormous fanbase that plays the arbitrary Pokémon Hardcore Mode (i.e. Nuzlocke) for the sake of extra challenge.

tl;dr Yes GameFreak should pay attention to the players that like challenge.

but he's right, you are a fucking moron. Nuzlocke mode is something you can do yourself anyway, there is no need to put a mode in the actual game. It would be a total waste of time for them as you can simply force the rules upon yourself with no change in software.
An optional hard mode would be welcome, however, where the actual game is different, i.e. better AI and higher level opponents

This is really based on the same issue that this board's problem with ORAS seems to come from: that it's not a game made for the hyper-competitive, or those who expect the game to pander to the "older" fans.

Do you think first time players or children cared about something like the BF? They want to raise pokemon and beat the gyms.

especially in the first 4 gyms,
one of the grunt leaders caught me off guard with purugly

Nuzlockes are self-imposed rules for a reason. They are not official and they probably never will be, because they go against the spirit of the Pokemon games. I doubt they're particularly well-known in Japan either. GameFreak cannot be bothered to implement a challenge mode for any of the new games. Do you really think they'd implement something like this?

Roleplay all you want in Nuzlockes and play fangames (like Uranium) that have Nuzlocke mode built in, but you shouldn't expect it from the official games. And it is definitely not the primary way to play.

The main rules are "if your pokemon faints, it's considered dead" and "you can only catch the first pokemon in each new route" anything past that is personal preference.
