It's a painful cycle every year of wanting a new, but possibly rushed, game so that /vp/ can pick up in quality with speculations and hype. Only to attract a flood of traffic from other sites that linger and shit up the quality of threads. Once the hype dies down, we are left with a painfully quiet board that can only keep a pulse by shitposting.

In my eyes, I see actual discussion and speculation as the best. Sometimes they get carried away, or spammed, but theoretical mons/megas threads can be good. Or actual battle discussions outside of Smogon/Verlisify/Karen shitflinging. Pokemon is a narrow topic compared to some other board topics; regarding /vp/'s quality, I'd rather have /vp/ be a slow board of discussion rather than a moderately slow cesspool.
