Why do the current anime looks so shit compared to pre-Sinnoh?

Some things in the bottom look okay, like the sand and water. Palm trees, buildings and cliffs too.

It's the clouds and bushes that are a bit iffy.

Nah man, the bottom pic (Decolore islands) look painfully cold for a tropical setting, because of the shit colors.
Just compare it to the Orange islands, the difference is so huge.
