Played with it a lot in Gen 5 weather wars. Great design. Wish it got Gyro Ball. Or like, a 4th move at all to go with Megahorn and Knock Off. I guess Drill run is okay.

Gen 5 as a whole really suffers from that.

What are you talking about? Drill Run literally saved it from the shitmon hell.
It would only dream of being B tier in doubles without it.

Thankfully Gen 6 was really kind to it. Gets access to Drill Run so it isn't walled by Fire and Steel types, Knock Off gets massively buffed, and Overcoat is buffed to make it immune to Spore.

I just mean it would appreciate a lot more options. Right now it has a total number of moves for maybe one or two sets. Drill run was good, don't get me wrong, but it's still kind of moveset starved.

Megahorn and drill run are pretty much the only reason to use it. Overcoat is okay too I guess.

Escavalier is pretty cool. I think it's one of those mons who fall short of high usage solely because it lacks one utility move that could make its viability skyrocket. I mean, imagine if it had access to Rapid Spin. Plenty of people would run it in a heartbeat.
