Second, yes, it does matter, because it tells me that we're observing a pretentious teenager who just wants to flaunt their opinion for probably self-serving reasons. You probably have a laundry list of reasons why you do not like this generation or that generation, but you are not, in fact, dismissing an entire generation 'just because'. You dislike MOST gen 2 pokemon (in all fairness - most people do). Lastly, I do not believe nostalgia is a strong enough feeling to cement opinions beyond a form of, let's say, paltry hypocrisy - that is, people DO say they are nostalgic, participate in genwars or whatever - but they do not really feel that way.
