Man, I thought the Keldeo Movie was bad, but this makes it look like a masterpiece. They just keep getting worse, don't they?

What a coincidence, I just finished watching this.
I actually found it okay but it was the shiny effects that saved it from boredom. The plot felt like something from a regular episode.

I haven't seen the majority of the movies, the most boring one I remember was the Zoroark one.

It was okay. Comparing Pokemon movies I wouldn't say it's bad, because that would imply it's on the same level as Temple of the Sea and ExtremeSpeed Genesect.

Pokemon movies supposedly have higher budget, but Chesnaught only uses pin missile instead of wood hammer or hammer arm, that are its signature moves.
In fact not a single pokemon in the entire movie used a physical/contact move, it was all lasers and projectiles because they are cheaper to animate.
Not that this was the movie's only problem.

I guess I have a different opinion than most of /vp/. I found the movie to be nicer and better framed than most of the others. I mean, Genesects movie was pure shit, the Diancie movie was kind of nice and the battles were halfway decent. I found their use of pokemon and battling and characters to be much more engaging than most of their previous ones. It wasn't a masterpiece, but it had the benefit of not being dubbed by fucking Vic Mignogna. Who seriously thought that was a good idea for Keldeo? Who heard that guy and said "Yup, he's the fucking little gay pony."

I thought it was better than most of the Pokemon movies. Diancie had trouble believing in herself, she learns to believe in herself at the end of the movie. Xerneas tells her that her power is from within her and oh look, her Mega Stone was created by herself.

It's still pretty shit, but at least it's an arc with some semblance of thought put into it. Half the Pokemon movies don't even have that where the event Legendary just runs around the whole time acting cute.

It did. While the Great Destruction is mentioned early on, the name Yveltal, or even the idea that the destruction was caused by a Pokemon at all, isn't mentioned until there's what, 20 minutes left of the movie. For a Pokemon referenced in the title, it plays an incredibly minor role.

Pretty sure Gamefreak insists the mascot legendaries must be featured in the first movie of a gen. They're some of the most heavily marketed mons and can't really be used in the anime series early on due to their role in the plot.

Listen well, you anon little piece of shit, there's nothing, NOTHING worse than the Keldeo movie.
That movie was complete bullshit from start to finish with things happening for no reason at all, and even the stupid supposed lesson made no sense.
Keldeo had no fucking reason whatsoever to fight Kyurem, the trio were just frozen garbage for half of the movie, and Ash&co were just screaming props.

That being said, Diancie's movie had its flaws but nothing major and I feel it was much better overall.

I agree with this guy. Nothing is worse than the Keldeo movie. Any movie which ends with a "it was all just to teach you a lesson and no real threat" really sucks.
Also that fucking line about being friends with the grass is probably the most cringeworthy line in pokémon history, and that says a lot.

That said, being better than absolute garbage isn't really that great of an accomplishment.
