>>23128972the post game in those games was decent enough, but the HGSS/GSC post game is GODTIER, because it's basically A SECOND GAME.
I mean, Idk how old you were, but then one first played GS it was like, okay cool; a new game.
then you beat the E4 and you got to basically play RBY a asecond time, and some of the Jouto pokemon weren't even available until Kantou (which is a problem in some ways, but not in others)
the Platinum post-game is second best.
Emerald is just the battle frontier. the B2W2 is basically the same.
so consider; a "good" post-game requires
>the ability to obtain new pokemon/pokemon that were previously obtainableso say there are 100~120 new pokemon available during the main story, lets keep 50~30 of them "secret" and hidden until the post-game.
>post game storyPlatinum was great because the Dect. Handsome stuff was based as fuck. none of the other games have really had worthwhile engaging story like that. B2W2 and BW had plenty of opportunity, but they didn't take it.
>a new region/area to explore.Kantou was previously explored, yes, but FRLG had the sevii islands, Platinum had the watchamacallit zone Had the Gen 5 games offered a substantial map expansion people wouldn't have been complaining like they were.
>harder battles>>23129010because the main story was Jouto, so thus kantou is post game. It can definitely be argued that Kantou is just a continuation of the main story, yes, but seeing that the rocket stuff is more or less one-and-done, it makes sense to put Kanto in the postgame box.
now, if you lump kanto in with the main story, that means GSC have NO POSTGAME at all, and that makes for an interesting perspective.
The Jouto story is short as fuck, I agree; HGSS really should have further capitalized on the relationship between Jouto and Houen, and the whirl islands story and the 3 beasts; but GF is always leaving plot threads dangling, so I don't expect much, if anything from them anymore.
