Is there an emulator for FireRed that is essentially the main game, but removes the evolution requirement of "trading" so I can get Alakazam, Machamp, etc.

An emulator is just the program that lets you play a rom. I can't say for certain but I don't know of any any to trade between emulators.

Although there are romhacks that change the trading requirement to either a stone/item or a level criteria.

Although most of them are also difficulty and multigeneration hacks.

Trade evo is possible with My Boy! emulators, but they're mobile only. It allows for local trading(i.e. you load 2 games at the same time and can trade with yousrelf). No we physical/special iirc. charmander has garbage def. You'll have to keep up with squirtle's tail whip to stay in the game. I had to match leer to growl when I fought piplup, and because it's Bullshit Plat Intense, my rival's piplup was lv.6. If I can manage those odds you can beat squirtle. But seriously, choose bulbasaur it's got enough type advantage to be a reliable ace.

With no new catches to report.

I've taken the piss out of Roark not that Ayy Lmao and Zed didn't stack the deck in my favor enough, for everyone who got surprised by that aerodactyl, I let Welker handle it.

At lv.16 holding the Light Ball I took my time and did it right. Started with a t-wave to stop its speed advantage, and second turn I disabled it with a charm. Then thundershock 'til it fell. Sorry for your fallen comrades my friends, I lost my monferno the first time I played saw it, and know that feel.

Currently waffling on whether or not I want to evolve Quentin into Gallade, or let him follow his bliss and become a Gardevoir. But, real talk he's lonely natured and everyone just got pokerus so this fella is probably going to be by back-up fighter.

Basically it's all new mons, and by classic kanto I mean just that. Changes include Brock is fighting type, Surge is gym 2, Misty is gym 3, Erika uses flying type now. among probably other stuff. It does have the physical/special split very well employed though.

Unrelated but earlier I was waffling on making my Kirilia evolve into Gallade instead of Gardevoir because of its lonely nature. Is Gallade worth the trouble or just a dex entry. I've never had the change to use him.

Okay, about to challenge the first gym now, here's my team.
Solosis is holding a Focus Sash I found (just in case I get unlucky with a crit Bite from Chili's Lillipup), and Maractus, an Oran Berry.
Plan is to set up Solosis's Reflect, then switch into Maractus, use Growth a few times, hopefully take attacks fairly well, and then sweep his team with Mega Drain.

Most mons are buffed a good amount if they are shit in bs intense, so power creep isn't really relevant. Crits happen, being that over leveled is just over kill. The point of a nuzlocke is to have a challenge and doing that takes the challenge out of it.

There's no excuse, but I don't need to apologize for how I run a nuzlocke, I'm playing a challenge on a challenge mode of a game. If I use a free legendary that can count as a route catch for 219 I will, If I can have 2 over leveled aces to beat a gym I will. Like I said before, try and stop me. Everyone has his own rules in Nuzlocke. Usually I apply the no legendaries rule, but in my current challenge I arrived at Burgh with 4 mons and no fire types so I let it slide for this run

I try not to overlevel too much, 5 levels is a safe bet, even for crits (Lay-Z has taken at least 24 crits now, half of which in gyms.)

My almost wipe-out today with Ghetis was because I was underleveled by 3 levels.

Each to their own, I guess.

I pull out all the stops. I won't use repel to catch a legendary but I won't turn my nose up at one either. Over lvl is cheap, I could have obviously beaten Gardenia with them at lv.25-6 respectively. But the Eterna Forest is the perfect place to grind Summer and Morty, the type effective was too good to pass up. Further it allows me to box them and train other mons. I'm sick of getting bodied in a gym and having to waste time training black-up to be first string.

Could do with some advice for Roark in Bullshit Plat.

I know this fucker opens with an Aerodactyl from my last attempt, and it caused me a lot of trouble that time. I don't remember its attacks, but it did have one flying type move. Probably stealth rock and some more rock type shit.

So I have three plans, which I need an opinion on:

Send out pikachu, hope he doesn't have ground attacks and see if I can outspeed it. Regardless of the case try and kill it with thundershock.

Send out Sandshrew and spam defense curl and potions, then start Rollout.

Send out Geodude and start throwing rocks.

Your best bet would be take out aero with pikachu then curse up with grotle. Lileep can grass knot sandshrew and geodude easily. Think aero might have headbutt so be careful.

Bonus fact: blowing into the mic doesn't work on a 3DS XL. I've had to soft reset a couple times in the Underground because some of the traps are now inescapable.

XY is probably the hardest nuzlocke I've done besides Plat and all Gen 5 games. XY has the neat thing where the dex is huge, so the variety in team options, as well as the variety in enemies can make things tough and interesting. I went with no Exp Share, no Super Training, no Amie, and no Mega Evolution. Gift mons are fine, its not like the Kanto starters are anything special without mega evolving.

If you are really careful you can sneak down Bikers Road aka Death Road, and go get the Vs Seeker at the cave entrance, just be really careful of the hiker.

Also, in the cave guys house there is a scientist that gives you all the fossils, Aero is a good choice for gardenia and fantina.

I think there's definitely some legendaries that can be used without too much guilt in a nuzlocke. Like if you can totally go through the trouble of getting a Regirock, Latios, Entei, something like that, go the fuck ahead. Victini is an odd case, mostly because it's comparatively bulky for how early you get it in the game. 100 in every stat adds up early on, like that guy who was using Manaphy earlier in the thread. If it were like a Phione I wouldn't bat an eye, but dude, that's an early game bulky water type with tail glow. Meanwhile something like Entei doesn't really have anything going for it. It can't dish out as much damage as other fire types so it kind of sucks in that regard. The regis and latis are a pain in the ass to even get, so if you can go through that trouble, go ahead and reward yourself. Victini is just kind of easy as far as legendaries go, no risk in getting it or using it.

Are there any good DPPt romhacks to nuzlocke?

I've tried playing Diamond on cart since I have it but the distribution is awful and I'm spoiled by emulators. The Pt hacks in the OP pastebin seem like they might be too difficult/weird for nuzlocking. I generally only like romhacks like Sacred Gold, Volt White, ect.

Anyway this is getting long, that's what I'm looking for, does it exist?

Aero can deal with most of Fantina. I would say Vaporeon or Flareon, though Espeon helps a lot with the next gym.

To add onto that, after watching literally a billion attempts of BS Platinum, most of best runs I've seen usually tend to rely upon curse Umbreon to save the day...till a critical happens and I laugh my way to the bank. It's still possible though.

I don't care. Linoone might have been fun, but I honestly don't like Sudo or Swell. I won't invest in the characters and they get boxed immediately if they don't fall. Pretending that sudowoodo or swellow would be viable before the first gym is unrealistic. I can't use swellow safely and sudo gets 1 fighting move maybe before 17. If I'm not mistaken it learns mimic at 17 so actually it's still bonsly. I'm bitter about a bunch of personal shit and testy to boot. SO I've already re-rolled and lost Pip to the Turtwig again. Can't win the fight in BS Plat Barry gets a lv.6 starter.

I forgot to mention! I have my battle style on Set because I feel like no Nuzlocke is complete without being on Set.

Anyway, I did utter shit at catching pokemon-- got Doduo at route 1 but critted a Houndour in Viridian City like an idiot. And as much as I love Sentret they are kinda balls and not the catch I wanted on route 22. So to be safe on route 2 I just pussied out and took a Treecko. At Viridian Forest I got a Surskit and at Pewter I got a Mudkip without really realizing it. I "killed" the egg and Torchic I got since I got them on the same routes/in the same city as a pokemon I already caught. I already have used Mudkip and Treecko a lot so I'm gonna try to switch them around when I get more pokes.

Also, I tried to name Treecko Xmas Butt but I accidentally hit start after just putting in "X."

Brock was hard in this. Fucking Swagger abusing Onix almost killed X and Juan a few times. But I came out on top with no deaths. Still, I'm nervous about what's to come. I'll keep chugging along for now though.

Gonna have to drop the Slaking I think. I can't deal with his slow ass grind. Although he does have Slow Start instead of Truant, might be useful.

On a bonus note though, the common Munchlax all have Leftovers, which I promptly stole with Slaking Covet. So I have 6 leftovers now.

Motherfucking Munchlax.

Caught him before Elesa's gym in VW2, decided to give him a shot. He solo'd it.

Eviolite actually works really good on him, he was a fucking tank. Even Crosschop didn't kill the beast. AND he evolved right after the fight.

With the moves:
Bulldoze
Body Slam
Stockpile
Screech

He's been my ace in this run ever since.
