You really wanna know? Okay, sure, I guess.
The first two are purely for mechanical reasons. I love their mechanical designs, I love how out of the box they are in terms of playstyles, both playing with and against them (Even if Aegislash can be a pain). I think their designs are okay, but nothing spectacular, and I have no sentimental connections to them.
> Charmander
Charmander was the little shit that introduced me to the whole thing. No, not Charizard, Charmander. Nothing beat the magical feeling of being given my first Pokemon in my first game. Before I actually started playing, Charmeleon was my favourite, but it's been Charmander ever since I got the game, at six years old.
> Venomoth
I dunno, I always liked its design. I like some bug Pokemon just for how odd and yet beautiful and cool their designs are, and Venomoth is just that. It's odd, but it's also really cool and it looks pretty stunning when you look at it.
> Volcarona
Same as Venomoth, except it's actually useful and it's got that whole cool type combination going for it. I still like Venomoth a tad better just because of nostalgia, but Volcarona is great.
> Altaria
I was struggling with what to put in this spot. After a while, I decided on Flygon. Then I realised no, wait, I actually like Altaria better. You see, I'm pretty much the unluckiest fucker alive when it comes to shinies. I saw two within half an hour back in Silver, didn't know what they were and ran away, only to find out much later and regretting it. Since then, I didn't see any shinies until X&Y where they made them easier to find, where I ran into a Gurdurr and a Druddigon throughout the course of the game. Not only were they hideous, but their stats were, of course, atrocious. I tried to force-breed a shiny Froakie for a while, but always ended up giving in. Then, shortly after I started breeding Swablus to get a competitive Mega Altaria in ORAS... Out pops a shiny Swablu. I was so fucking thrilled.
