hey /vp/ are there any spriters here?
i just started making sprites and was wondering if any would be willing to give me advice
this is an oc of mine and my first sprite
kindleaf
it evolves into embranch then baoblaze
all in the line are grass/fire

Hey there OP. I wanted to reply to your thread earlier but I completely forgot it was up when I started doing something else. I'm not much of a spriter, but, I like the look of it. I think you should try some autumn colors on it though to be honest. I think itm ight look better in shades of brown and red than looking like a pepper. I don't know, just what I was thinking. If the thread is up tomorrow I'll talk to you more about it.

i made it an all around darker color but brightened up the eye and tail end
the whole idea is that this evolution line is burning foliage
going from a leaf to branch to baobab tree

try to soften the transition from coloured outline to black
your coours also lack some contrast, try taking colours from existing sprites at first until you get a good idea of what works and doesnt.
what style are you going for? gen 5? gen 4?
