A friend and I have decided that we want to get into the current TCG and play with one another. We haven't touched cards since the first generation.
What would be the best way for total n00bs to get into it and start buying cards? A Google search led me to a kinda recent Kotaku article that suggested we'd get a Trainer Kit, like the one that is pictured that would help us learn the jist of it and then both of us should pick up a theme deck. Is this the best way to go about it? Where do boosters come into play?
