Okay, I haven't played in a while but what in OU does serperior actually hit for good damadge? Are metagross, heatran, altaria and chansey all dead or something?

Serperior wears stuff down really easily, as long as it isn't grass immune

+2 Leaf Storms just keep taking a decent chunk off resists, and that usually puts everything in range of a Dragon Pulse or HP Fire KO range

And for things like Chansey, it has the movepool to break it, ie Taunt + Synthesis

Altaria does check it pretty well, but this
+2 252 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Mega Altaria: 141-167 (48.4 - 57.3%) -- 94.1% chance to 2HKO

People don't use 0/0 Altaria but it's showing how well Serperior can break stuff

Heatran and Talonflame are probably the only things in OU that are a complete and solid stop to it, and that's disregarding HP Ground / Rock variants.

Serperior just fits the role of a fast offensive grass type that doesn't take up a mega slot and that's what the meta has been wanting for a while.

The thing is, there aren't many Pokemon able to counter Serperior.

Chansey can't really come because Serperior will just setup on it while dealing massive damage (and there's a chance of a Taunt+Giga Drain/Synthesis).

Altaria and Metagross are nice checks but I dunno if they are able to counter it.

Heatran completely shits on Serperior though (as long as it doesn't have HA Ground).

Not the same guy but it works on stall teams that look like balance teams. Creates an edge in tourney games when your opponent expects a set but it does the completely opposite thing.

Its used as a lure for shit like ferro who can't beat it at all after.

However BellyJet Azu is awesome now as +6 Knock Off still ohkos ferro. So the sap sipper is still pretty much a gimmick
