I remember the most useless Route 1.
I remember a copy of Viridian Forest.
I remember garden with gardeners (new trainer class!) in front of south exit of Lumiose City.
I remember the castle and its gardens where we had to catch Furfrou.
I remember that shit Snorlax blocking my way again.
I remember HOLY SHIT, SECOND GYM IS SO FAR AWAY thing (do you guys remember posts about how many hours people played before they got to Grant?).
I remember amazing Glittering Cave (playing this moment at night was pleasant).
I remember graves stones before Geosenge Town.
I remember what a piece of shit Azure Bay was.
I remember this gimmicky town (two parts connected via monorail) with nice grass gym (you got me there - I don't remember their names).
I remember spending like 4-5 hours at Lumiose just to check everything. I needed map for that shit. And holy crap, I remember bunch of things from Lumiose. Lysandre, hotel jobs, restaurants, some thugs etc.
I remember swamps and that old guy telling 'scary' story.
I remember Kuldahar-like city called Laverre (awesome theme btw).
I remember brilliant route music being around this point of the game.
I remember rollerblades tricks now.
I remember Obamasnow in ice cave.
I remember Anistar city being disappointing.
I remember having various feelings because I was near the end of the game.
I remember Pokemon Village being funny and Snowbelle City being kinda sad.
And then... the Elite Four sweep.
The rest was just getting bunch of stones, TMs, getting to Kiloude City etc.
And of course I remember Lysandre being a great villain while 'friends' being annoying as hell. And I remember I could tip almost every fucker in the game.
The thing is, don't try to force your opinion on others. For me, the region wasn't barren.
