It can't even beat a couple of dumbed down remakes with 3 versions

It's dead, and Level 5 knows it which is why they're about to release the third game in 3 years

I think that deep down, everyone wants it to be a competitor that kicks GF in the balls. That way they'd hopefully get their shit together and seriously work on a game that can win back fans.

Yokai Watch is even more casual and shallow than Pokemon. If anything it'd give them the opposite motivation.

At least the graphics are a serious step up though.

And I am hype. I've seen an episode of this while I was in Japan, and it looks as innocent as pokemon does. My concern is that It'll die like all the other similar stuff like that I can't be fucked to name.

Sounds as much of a Pokemon killer as any MMORPG that has been nicknamed "WoW killer" over the last few years.
