>>23223110>it's better to give you one thing than to give you one thing and then give you more things similar but different to that thingYour logic doesn't add up, and I think you're only attacking it this harshly to try to make ORAS look better by comparison.
The Safari Zone isn't going to have all 700 of those Pokémon. I just charted this all down out of autism; Emerald's Safari Zone, with the special extension filled with Johto Pokémon and everything, has 38 Pokémon in it. 7 of those are evolutions, and out of the remaining 31, 5 can be gotten elsewhere in Emerald (more can be got in Altering Cave but Altering Cave is fucked up and I'm still not sure how to use it so I'm not counting it). I'm not factoring in trading here, if you just played Emerald with no other game, you would only need to catch 26 Pokémon from there.
Now, let's factor in other games. If you have a friend with FRLG, they can catch 11 Pokémon from the list without using FRLG's Safari Zone.
If they have Colosseum, they can get 7 Pokémon from there, 2 of which overlaps with FRLG's catches.
If they have Gale of Darkness, they can get 12, 7 of which overlap with the previous two.
If you have access to friends with all these games, there are only five Pokémon you would need to go into Emerald's Safari Zone for. If your friend doesn't have an absolute hatred of the Safari Zone he can also get Rhyhorn for you, making it only four that you need.
And this is Gen VI, meaning you don't even NEED friends because you have the GTS, online communities if you don't want to deal with the GTS, you could easily never step foot in the Safari Zone if you didn't want to in Gen VI. I was just making my argument for Gen III's Safari Zone instead of a hypothetical Gen VI Safari Zone. So, given how little you actually need to use it assuming you have friends, does the Safari Zone's existence really hurt the game that much according to you?
