I am kinda looking forward to Digimon Tri, though I don't know if the audience is still aimed at kids specifically or just the kids that watched the first digimon anime.

And /vg/ is ridden with tripfags and redditors, would rather stay here with my bros although since the disappointment that was ORAS, I haven't visited /vp/ very frequently lately... first and only Pokemon man series game I outright didn't like

Pic related is a decent Agumon. Although he's not articulated he is in a decent pose at least, and he's a good size. The only one or two Greymon figures I could find are like 2" tall.

Am hesitantly hype for Tri, although like you I am not sure what to expect.

The Digimon anime, for sure. Not the games though. They're bland and far, far too grind-y.
That said, I would kill for a localised (or at least subbed) 3DS re-release of Digimon Adventure for PSP. Or Digimon World: Re-Digitize Decode to be localised.
