>>23222463I'm kinda in the same boat as you about the mystery. I just don't like how their only purpose was to power the weapon, with literally no differences between the two in both games. The only info we have is the lore from the dude in Anistar. While interesting, it's very vague. I like it to be somewhat mysterious, as it makes you wonder, but we still know almost nothing about them. Kanto Mewtwo did "mysterious" right. I just wish they had more of a role in the plot that related to their lore. Because their role in the plot was just as empty as Diantha. Lacking and almost meaningless.
As for knowing nothing about Zygarde, that kind of mystery is cool. We can try to think and make connections about what his purpose is, and we just don't know for sure. The thing is, we know we'll get an elaboration on him in the next game(s). I'm hoping Xerneas and Yveltal have a role in the next plot as well, so maybe we can get more elaboration. Otherwise, they'll just be forever left in the dark. While that may keep them with mystery, it'll leave them as the most boring box legends we've had so far.
